The Tiger ( ), is one of the 12-year cycle of animals which appear in the Chinese zodiac related to the Chinese calendar. The Year of the Tiger is associated with the earthly branch symbol .

To celebrate the 1st day of the year of Metal Tiger, I paid a visit to Loyang Toa Pek Kong Temple.

Here are some shots I've taken, just to share with all my readers~ Happy Chinese New Year!!

Interior of the temple

Devotees offering the candles for blessings

桔子 - Mandrin Oranges symbolizes Good Luck, in chinese 大吉大利
Mandrin Oranges are the most popular and most abundant fruit during Chinese New Year.
Also, the name gik (橘 jú) in Teochew dialect is a homophone of "luck" or "fortune" (吉 jí)

Brightly lighted for to celebrate the new year

满 - a bucket full of rice symbolizes Full of Prosperity

金元宝 - Golden Ingots , symbolizes Fortune
