WTF?~!

Due to the throat infection i had couple of weeks ago, i was on medication until couple of days ago...and some how i felt that the medication irritates my stomach and causes reflux of stomach acids

and so for that, i've decided to consult the specialist...

i was told tat its only indigestion *phew* and not some serious matter
hence the Gp gave me some stomach soothing medication and for indigestion... *yuck! i hate pills*

i actually asked for syrup instead of pills but the gp looked at me and giggled and said ,

"well... *paused* ...
u will definitely need more that a bag to carry it home

IF u really want to take syrup instead of the pills...
...i let u decide ..."

**deng ... he's trying be funny... but FAILED!!! **

Also given a day off from work to rest a bit, he said i need to rest! Oh well, i was happy and i needed rest anyway...
proceed to the counter, paid the bill, got my medication and my medical chit...

I was in shock when i looked at the diagnosis ...

"ACUTE GASTRITIS" ?????

cannot be lah...
i thought it was just indigestion, but Acute gastritis???

That sounds scary........... *screams*

p/s: Dr Juno ( eh-hem, i mean Jun Ho) is soooo talkative...
keeps telling me stories of how stomach & acid secretion works!
i was abt to faint! *faintzzzz*

Many times we've been told that using plastic containers are not good for us esp heatin up food with plastic containers using Microwave.

The general consensus is that using plastic containers or plastic wrap in microwaves is not dangerous, so long as microwave safe plastics are used and manufacturers' guidelines are followed.

According to Edward Machuga, Ph.D, of the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA),

"The FDA has seen no evidence that plastic containers or films contain dioxins
and knows of no reason why they would."

What is melamine?
Melamine (aka tripolycyanamide) is a toxic chemical used in plastics, fertilizers and etc.
Melamine is an organic compound that is often combined with formaldehyde to produce melamine resin, a synthetic polymer which is fire resistant and heat tolerant. Melamine resin is a very versatile material with a highly stable structure. Uses for melamine include whiteboards, floor tiles, kitchenware, fire retardant fabrics, and commercial filters.Melamine can be easily molded while warm, but will set into a fixed form. This property makes it ideally suited to certain industrial applications.

What can melamine cause?
Consumption of melamine can cause reproductive damage, bladder and kidney stones. If not treated properly, it can lead to bladder cancer.

Chamomile tea may help to prevent diabetic complications

New research suggests that drinking chamomile tea may help to prevent many of the complications associated with diabetes, such as kidney damage, nerve damage, and vision loss.

Japanese and English researchers added chamomile extract to the diets of diabetic rats for 21 days. Results showed a significant decrease in blood glucose levels in rats given the chamomile extract, compared to a control group of rats fed a normal diet. The chamomile extract was also found to inhibit aldose reductase (ALR2) an enzyme which plays a role in the development of many of the complications of diabetes, including: diabetic neuropathy, cataracts, diabetic retinopathy, and nephropathy.

The authors conclude: “These results clearly suggested that daily consumption of chamomile tea with meals could contribute to the prevention of the progress of hyperglycemia and diabetic complications.”

Coffee may protect against uterine cancer

New research suggests that drinking coffee may protect women from developing cancer of the uterus, the fourth most common cancer in women in the US. Researchers from Japan’s National Cancer Center conducted a study of 53,724 Japanese women to determine whether coffee consumption had any effect upon the risk of developing endometrial cancer, the most common type of uterine cancer.


Over the course of the 15-year-long study 117 women developed endometrial cancer. Results showed that coffee consumption was significantly associated with a decreased risk of endometrial cancer. In fact, women who drank more than three cups of coffee per day were more than 60% less likely to develop endometrial cancer than women who drank fewer than two cups of coffee per week. It is thought that coffee decreases circulating insulin and estrogen levels, high levels of which are linked to the development of endometrial cancer.

Caffeine: Sex Potion for Females?

Caffeine may put females in the mood for sex, a new study shows.

In the study, female rats that got their first shot of caffeine before mating were quicker than non-caffeinated females to scurry back to a male rat after sex.

The caffeinated females weren't just looking for company. "It looks as if they wanted to have sex again," researcher Fay Guarraci, PhD, tells WebMD.

Might caffeine also rev up woman's sex lives? Maybe, but it's too early to say, says Guarraci, an assistant professor of psychology at Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas.

The study, titled "Coffee, Tea, and Me," is due to appear in an upcoming issue of Pharmacology, Biochemistry, and Behavior .

Consume Caffeine, Crave Sex?

Guarraci isn't advising women to use caffeine as an aphrodisiac -- at least, not yet.

"My caution in terms of directly applying the caffeine or the coffee before sex to enhance your sexual drive or motivation would be that in this experiment, we gave only one dose of caffeine to animals who had never had caffeine before," Guarraci says.

"Most of the time, women drink coffee on a daily basis or ingest caffeine in cola beverages," she observes.

It would be interesting to see if regular caffeine use had the same effect on female rats, Guarraci says. If she knew that to be true, she would "be more confident in saying that it would be something useful for women to consider," she says.

Still, she notes the current study's results "might be something to think about for women who don't ingest a lot of caffeine, who usually have a low level of caffeine in their diet."

Female Rats Returned for More Sex

The caffeinated female rats weren't exactly shy.

"The way we measure their interest is they go back and revisit the male after they've just had some sexual interaction with them," Guarraci explains.

That's a normal behavior for female rats. In this study, speed and motivation mattered.

The caffeinated females "would go and visit faster, and they would stay with the males until they received sexual stimulation before they left," Guarraci says.

"It wasn't just that they wanted to be around them. It seemed to be particularly relevant to the sexual interaction, the stimulation they would receive," Guarraci says.

Caffeine didn't affect how quickly the female rats left their partners after sex, the study shows.

I kinda missed those time where we shared music and posters. We would not miss all Jade Solid Gold on every weekend, would not miss any of his album releases, once is out we will inform each other to go get it, if any one of us have not saved enough to buy it, the rest will loan the tapes/ cassettes till we get our own ... we have this habit of keeping our own collection ( hahahaha) I kept mine till ....not long ago....

... Not long ago, when i was back home doing some spring/summer/autumn/winter cleaning or what-so-ever cleaning ppl may call, i found the bag of cassettes and sadly i have to throw them away... cos all spoiled !!!!

That was really one of my "最好的时光 " my best time ever with my friends in primany school
really missed them all!!

Here's the story ...

♡♡♡♡♡ One day, when I was a freshman in high school,
I saw a kid from my class was walking home from school.
His name was Kyle. It looked like he was carrying all of his books.
I thought to myself, 'Why would anyone bring home all his books on a Friday? He must really be a nerd.'
I had quite a weekend planned (parties and a football game with my friends tomorrow afternoon), so I shrugged my shoulders and went on.

As I was walking, I saw a bunch of kids running toward him.
They ran at him, knocking all his books out of his arms and tripping him so he landed in the dirt.
His glasses went flying, and I saw them land in the grass about ten feet from him.
He looked up and I saw this terrible sadness in his eyes

My heart went out to him. So, I jogged over to him as he crawled around looking for his glasses, and I saw a tear in his eye. As I handed him his glasses, I said, 'Those guys are jerks.They really should get lives.'

He looked at me and said, 'Hey thanks!'
There was a big smile on his face.
It was one of those smiles that showed real gratitude.

I helped him pick up his books, and asked him where he lived.
As it turned out, he lived near me, so I asked him why I had never seen him before.
He said he had gone to private school before now.
I would have never hung out with a private school kid before.

We talked all the way home, and I carried some of his books.
He turned out to be a pretty cool kid.
I asked him if he wanted to play a little football with my friends
He said yes.
We hung out all weekend and the more I got to know Kyle, the more I liked him, and my friends thought the same of him.

Monday morning came, and there was Kyle with the huge stack of books again.
I stopped him and said, 'Boy, you are gonna really build some serious muscles with this pile of books everyday!' He just laughed and handed me half the books.

Over the next four years, Kyle and I became best friends..
When we were seniors we began to think about college.
Kyle decided on Georgetown and I was going to Duke.
I knew that we would always be friends, that the miles would never be a problem.
He was going to be a doctor and I was going for business on a football scholarship..

Kyle was valedictorian of our class.
I teased him all the time about being a nerd.
He had to prepare a speech for graduation.
I was so glad it wasn't me having to get up there and speak


Graduation day, I saw Kyle.
He looked great.
He was one of those guys that really found himself during high school.
He filled out and actually looked good in glasses.
He had more dates than I had and all the girls loved him.
Boy, sometimes I was jealous! Today was one of those days.
I could see that he was nervous about his speech.
So, I smacked him on the back and said, 'Hey, big guy, you'll be great!'
He looked at me with one of those looks (the really grateful one) and smiled.

' Thanks,' he said.

As he started his speech, he cleared his throat, and began

'Graduation is a time to thank those who helped you make it through those tough years.
Your parents, your teachers, your siblings, maybe a coach...but mostly your friends...
I am here to tell all of you that being a friend to someone is the best gift you can give them.
I am going to tell you a story.'

I just looked at my friend with disbelief as he told the story of the first day we met.

He had planned to kill himself over the weekend.He talked of how he had cleaned out his locker so his Mom wouldn't have to do it later and was carrying his stuff home.

He looked hard at me and gave me a little smile.
'Thankfully, I was saved.
My friend saved me from doing the unspeakable.'
I heard the gasp go through the crowd as this handsome, popular boy told us all about his weakest moment.
I saw his Mom and dad looking at me and smiling that same grateful smile.
Not until that moment did I realize it's depth.

Never underestimate the power of your actions.

With one small gesture you can change a person's life.
For better or for worse.
God puts us all in each others lives to impact one another in some way.
